Ch.
Noholme Pepper Mill - Cricket
Male
Most Kennels have a bitch as their foundation
but in our case Cricket was the beginning of Taejaan.
He come to me as a gift from his breeders Brian and
Sandy Wilson when he was 12 weeks old. At the time
I didn't quite realise what a dramatic impact that
he would have on the breed in this country.
He was not a fluke, his pedigree was
very impressive. His Sire was bred by the very famous
kennels of Martinique, who had bred some of the nations
top winners of the past. His Dam also carried Martinique
quite extensively. His pedigree carried the names
of the two top sires in the history of the bred in
Australia, namely Eng Ch. Dondelayo Statue and Ch.
Lowglen Oakbark Mastermind who, between them sired
73 champions. Many of these are also BIS and SPEC
BIS Champions.
His genetic makeup has given him the
capability to produce the correct type and quality.
Cricket didn't set the world aflame
in the showring, although he did gain his title with
3x GP Firsts and many inshow awards. He was Op sex
in show at NSW Whippet SPEC under Mrs. Marsdon UK
and rarely out of the ribbons at SPEC and Royal Shows.
However it will be as a producer that Pepper Mill
will be so well remembered as he unfortunately wasn't
photogenic and was by far a better dog than any camera
could record.
To date he has sired 30 something champions:
- 1 Royal BIS Winner
- 18 Individual BIS Winners
- 7 Individual Royal Challenge Winners
- 6 Royal Group Winners
- Royal puppy in GP and 2x runner up B.I.G. Winners.
- And several Grand Champions.
Every Australian Whippet in my
kennel carries Pepper Mill's blood. We look forward
to some day breeding back the semen we have stored
when the time is right.
